Working under the direction of the Quality Systems Lead, the Quality Coordinator provides on-site coordination of quality activities associated with API Spec Q2, ISO 9001, operational and maintenance activities, supplier quality, inspection and testing, nonconformance and corrective action management, document and records control, audit readiness, and quality performance reporting. The role serves as the primary day-to-day quality resource for the Paradise facility and Newfoundland operations, helping ensure quality requirements are understood, implemented, documented, verified, and effectively closed.
Key Responsibilities
QMS & API Q2 Conformance
- Coordinate the day-to-day local execution of applicable API Spec Q2, API Spec Q1, ISO 9001, internal QMS, and customer quality requirements for Newfoundland operations, in alignment with Quality Systems Lead direction.
- Maintain accurate, current, and traceable quality records in approved QMS, SharePoint, and document control systems.
- Support controlled document changes, including drafting, formatting, review coordination, revision history, approvals, release, and record retention.
- Support risk assessment and Management of Change (MOC) activities and ensure resulting quality actions are documented and followed through.
Operational Quality & Inspection Support
- Perform or support incoming inspection and document review for purchased, repaired, rented, or outsourced products and services, as applicable.
- Verify identification and traceability requirements, material/service documentation, inspection records, certificates, and other objective evidence before acceptance or release.
- Support development and execution of inspection and test plans (ITPs), work-package quality requirements, hold/witness points, and quality records for maintenance, turnaround, repair, and service activities where applicable.
- Support compliance of testing, measuring, monitoring, and detection equipment through calibration/certification review and registry verification.
Nonconformance, Corrective Action & Improvement
- Initiate, enter, update, and track QNCRs/NCRs, CARs/CAPAs, deviations, audit findings, MOCs, and other quality action items.
- Investigate or support investigation of nonconformances, contribute to root-cause analysis, and verify corrective actions are appropriate and closed on time.
- Monitor recurring issues and quality trends; escalate systemic risks and recommend improvements to the Quality Systems Lead and operational leaders.
- Contribute to defect reduction, right-first-time execution, and operational efficiency through data-driven continuous improvement.
Supplier & Outsourced Service Quality
- Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and Approved Supplier List records in coordination with Supply Chain/Purchasing.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quality documentation and follow up on documentation or compliance gaps.
- Support supplier quality issues, corrective actions, and performance monitoring where assigned.
Audit Readiness, Reporting & Training
- Support internal, customer, API, ISO, and other external audits by preparing evidence packages, coordinating records and site logistics, and tracking findings to closure.
- Maintain audit-ready records that are current, complete, traceable, and easy to retrieve.
- Prepare and report quality metrics, NCR/CAR status, audit findings, supplier quality data, and other KPI inputs for leadership and Management Review.
- Coach employees and contractors on applicable QMS requirements, documentation expectations, and quality processes.
Cross-Functional & HSE Support
- Act as the primary day-to-day quality liaison between Newfoundland operations and the Quality Systems Lead, supporting clear information flow, action tracking, implementation of QMS requirements, and timely escalation of quality risks.
- Collaborate with HSE where quality and safety systems intersect; may support safety observations, incident investigation input, or other related activities when qualified and requested.
Qualifications
Required
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Industrial/Manufacturing Technology, Business/Operations, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 2–5 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, quality control, compliance, QMS coordination, inspection, or a related industrial environment; candidates with strong relevant experience outside this range may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of API Spec Q1/Q2 and/or ISO 9001-based quality management systems.
- Practical experience with document control, nonconformance management, corrective action, audit support, and quality recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills with close attention to detail and data integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with SharePoint, QMS software, databases, and digital workflows.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work on-site; this is not a hybrid role.
Preferred / Assets
- Experience in oil and gas services, offshore/industrial maintenance, manufacturing, equipment repair, or another regulated technical environment.
- Direct experience with API Spec Q2, API surveillance/recertification audits, or customer quality audits.
