About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full Time Coordinator to join our dynamic Logistics Coordination Centre team in Ottawa. The work of a is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Lifeline. In this role, you will be monitoring and conducting reviews to determine CBS Customers specific requirements with regards to transportation of donor samples, finished blood products, plasma protein products and lab samples. You will act as point of contact between CBS customers and CBS’ own transportation and commercial carriers.
Key responsibilities include:
Tracking and monitoring shipments of time and temperature sensitive nature to ensure transportation conditions are provided and shipments are timely delivered
Administration and support of Logistics Systems
Ensuring compliance of the negotiated agreements with commercial carriers and monitors and reviews the commercial carrier’s performance level
Providing support for distribution initiatives identified through Transportation System Project or Logistics review recommendations
Providing subject matter support to OneMatch as required in the area of custom’s clearance, carrier options and service levels, shipping container options, shipment monitoring, etc
Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a college degree in Commerce or Business Administration
A minimum of two years’ experience in activities related to transportation, shipping and receiving or commercial carrier industry
Comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and commercial carrier
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable legislation's pertaining to shipping requirements of Dangerous Goods and regulations pertaining to shipping of infectious substances.
Effective and in-depth working knowledge of personal computers with a Windows NT operating system using Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes software and Internet/ Website
Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Competitive base salary range of 51,300 - $61,000
4 weeks of paid vacation
