Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Lodge Manager in the overall operations, management, and supervision of the lodge. This role ensures the provision of high-quality services to residents while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in staff management, resident relations, safety and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Assist in the day-to-day management of the lodge, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies and procedures.

Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary services to ensure quality and efficiency.

Implement and monitor health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

Coordinate with healthcare professionals to address residents' health concerns.

Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
Resident Services

Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents.

Address and resolve resident concerns and complaints in a timely manner.

Assist with the admission and orientation of new residents.

Ensure residents' needs are met, including health, safety, and recreational needs.
Staff Management

Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising lodge staff.

Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching.

Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.
Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate records of resident information, staff schedules, and other administrative documents.

Assist in budgeting and financial management, including monitoring expenses and revenues.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.

Prepare reports and presentations for senior management as required.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior housing management or a related field.

Strong knowledge of senior care practices, health and safety regulations, and housing management.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
