Shipper Receiver / Forklift Operator
Location: Guelph, ON
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Assignment Type: Temporary (through end of August, with potential extension)
Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a great local company for a Shipper Receiver / Forklift Operator to support increased summer workload and vacation coverage.
This role is ideal for a reliable and organized individual with strong warehouse experience and a valid forklift certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials using a forklift
- Move, stack, and organize products in designated warehouse areas
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with suppliers
- Work with internal teams to schedule and execute deliveries
- Perform general material handling duties (lifting up to 10 kg)
- Enter shipment and inventory data into the company’s internal system (training provided)
- Support overall warehouse operations across loading/unloading areas
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of shipping and receiving experience
- Valid forklift certification (mandatory)
- Experience with pallet jacks and material handling equipment
- Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset
Working Conditions:
- Physically active role with lots of walking
- Use of forklift throughout the day
- Standard PPE required:
- Hard hat & safety glasses (provided)
- Steel-toe boots (must be supplied by worker)
- Long pants required (no shorts or tank tops)
- Gloves optional depending on task
Additional Details:
- Overtime paid at time and a half after 44 hours/week
- Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Team of 4 currently in place
- Immediate start available for training, with peak needs in July and August
