Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mould Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision molds used in production processes. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge, machining, and CAD/CAM software, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The Mould Maker will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure molds meet specifications and are produced to the highest standards.
Duties
- Design and develop molds using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Schematics.
- Program CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment to produce mold components.
- Fabricate molds by performing precise machining, welding, assembly, and finishing operations.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and mathematical calculations to guide manufacturing processes.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on molds to ensure optimal performance during production runs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to modify or improve existing mold designs for better efficiency or quality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of mold fabrication processes and modifications.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or mold making environment with a focus on machining and fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe and CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to assembly, welding, and use of hand tools.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and mathematical data relevant to mold design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing standards, schematics interpretation, and precision measurement tools like calipers.
- Knowledge of machining processes including cutting, grinding, welding, and finishing techniques is highly desirable.
