IBP is currently recruiting a Production Operator for our steel stud plant in Aldergrove, B.C. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Key Details
- Position type: Permanent, full-time
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Pay: $21.00–$23.00 per hour (may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience)
- Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs (before/after shift and occasional weekends)
Role Summary
Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator supports the daily operations of the Steel Stud department. This role requires a high level of safety attention, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the machine screen and support basic machine setups.
- Bundle, band, and stack steel product for safe transportation to customers.
- Maintain an exceptionally safe work environment by following all safety rules, procedures, and safe-work practices and policies; keep the work area clean and organized.
- Efficiently operate equipment, troubleshoot production or equipment issues, and escalate concerns to support high-quality output.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain good working relationships within and across departments.
- Use strong attention to detail to ensure product quality, correct bundling/labeling/stacking, and safe handling.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety with consistent safe work behaviors.
- Excellent attention to detail and focus in a production environment.
- Dependable with a strong attendance record and positive attitude.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow technical instructions.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Forklift experience/certification is an asset.
- Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the operation.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks typical of manufacturing work.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with moving equipment and steel product handling.
