Administrative Assistant Medical Staff Department Head

Reporting to the Leader, Medical Affairs and receiving work direction from the Department Head, the Secretary performs a variety of secretarial and clerical support functions for designated Program Directors, Operations Leaders and Site Leader. Uses computerized word processing, data base, spreadsheet and graphics programs to type correspondence, to input research data, to organize data, to display project results and prepare overheads and to handle confidential information including medical-legal correspondence. Works with other secretaries to ensure coverage in designated areas and/or to assist with priority organizational projects.
Ability to keyboard at 60 WPM. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to handle confidential information. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Intermediate to advanced skills using a variety of computerized software packages such as Microsoft Office ‘97, Microsoft Access, Viso, Pagemaker, Outlook/MS Exchange & Schedule +, Internet and other Windows software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
High School Diploma, completion of a recognized secretarial program and three (3) years recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
