Job Overview
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is an essential role which requires a proactive candidate with an detailed mindset. Accurately analyze invoices in multiple currencies for payment. This position is for an individual who holds a deep level of understanding and knowledge of accounts payable while actively contributing to a positive, energetic and productive working environment. Duties
- Match and check transportation invoices against BOL and Daily Manifests
- Verify freight rates and obtain approval of exceptions and PODs
- Coding and data entry
- Timely and accurate processing of other invoices in multiple currencies
- Cheque run, manual cheques, and wire transfers
- Process cash expense reimbursements
- Process transportation claims
- Process credit applications and set-up for new vendors
- Administration of company phone and fuel programs
- Respond to vendor’s inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Compile various reports in Excel
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of A/P experience in fast paced, high-volume environment
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Attention to details a must
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written
- Knowledge of grocery industry an asset.
