Elevate, Maintain, and Protect: About the Role:
As our Exterior Building Technician, you will be responsible for the appearance, cleanliness, and structural upkeep of our campus exteriors. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will combine a strong safety focus with hands-on mechanical aptitude.
This isn't a repetitive maintenance gig. It is a dynamic, collaborative role where you will:
- Work at Heights: Safely operate manlifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and roof platforms to clean windows, power wash surfaces, clear gutters, and perform paint preparation.
- Maintain & Repair: Inspect building exteriors for deficiencies in siding, trim, flashing, and sealants, making minor repairs to keep our campus immaculate.
- Support the Broader Team: Adapt seamlessly to campus projects, seasonal duties, preventative maintenance, and general repairs when exterior work isn't scheduled.

Rate of Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

What You Bring (Your Certificates and Experience):
- Education & Experience: High School diploma (Grade 12). Preference will be given to applicants with experience in exterior building maintenance, window cleaning, power washing, painting, or a related trade.
- Licences & Certifications: Valid BC driver's license. Valid elevated work platform / manlift (aerial lift) certification, fall protection, and working at heights training (or a willingness to obtain within the first months of employment).
- Assets: Level 1 First Aid and WHMIS certifications are considered assets
Key Values & Attributes:
● Safety & Regulatory Awareness: Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations for working at heights, ladder use, and elevated platforms, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work area and equipment.
● Technical Proficiency & Mechanical Aptitude: Working knowledge of exterior cleaning methods, surface-appropriate pressure washing, paint prep/caulking, and competency using hand tools, power tools, and basic computers for work orders.
● Adaptability & Teamwork: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with the broader maintenance team to meet deadlines under changing weather and operational priorities.

and reach daily and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
