Why this role is important?
Successful applicant will be responsible for all upkeep and repair of building components including general maintenance of equipment, including green spaces. Identify and categorize equipment need for repairs by priority. Respond to clients’ maintenance requests including tenant services requests.
To be an effective Building Operator Technician, you will be skilled and hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Skillful hands, good physical stamina. As a building operator, you oversee the operations of facility to ensure that its electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as heating and cooling, are working properly.
Have a good understanding of building mechanical components and equipment, able to troubleshoot building mechanical components and strong analytical skills.
Oversee the operations of a building or facility to ensure that its electrical and mechanical equipment are performing within designed parameters
Perform basic repair tasks including painting and filling crevices
Basic plumbing issues.
Perform Basic repairs on office environmental equipment
Repair equipment including but not limited to locks, material handling equipment inclusive of appliances.
Inspecting the building for safety hazards and regulation violations
Oversee the safety equipment operations and conduct inspections.
Verify repairs completed by others, verify these are completed and to company standards.
Manage and schedule contracted maintenance repairs.
Conduct performance assessments of all company appliances and equipment, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers.
Perform and manage scheduled Preventive Maintenance.
Respond to user’s service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Execute tenant furniture and auditorium set ups
Travel will be required between offices buildings, valid driver’s license required
As these building are in use during the day afternoon/night work will be required periodically (Scheduled and Unscheduled)
On call duties are required for this position based on rolling schedule
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
Graduates of Class I Operator levels of the Building Environmental Systems Program
Certified BAS certifications
A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role.
Solid experience with plumbing and general repairs.
Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
Extremely organized with good communication skills.
Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
