Packaging Associate II

Scope: To work on automated and semi-automated filling and labeling equipment using vision systems as well as work on assembly lines to complete final kit assembly and perform manual labeling operation.

Responsibilities:
May include some or all the following:
  • Perform labeling of products using automated labeling equipment equipped with vision systems. Gain full knowledge on minimum of 2 automated labeling equipment.
  • Perform dispensing of products using automated dispensing equipment equipped with vision systems. Gain full knowledge on minimum of 2 automated dispensing equipment.
  • Perform filling of bulk products using filling equipment and floor model weight scales.
  • Perform pooling of diagnostics reagents to avoid contamination of product.
  • Ability to complete all job-related documentation associated with minimal errors.
  • Perform manual dispensing, completing volume check points using volumetric graduated cylinders and the checks using the meniscus point.
  • Perform semi-automated dispensing, completing volume check points using volumetric graduated cylinders and/or weigh scales understanding the checks using the meniscus point.
  • Complete setup of assembly line for final kit pack out.
  • Complete final assembly of diagnostic reagents following associated documentation.
  • Complete all documentation associated with assembly of diagnostic reagents kits.
  • Perform manual labeling process with understanding of maintaining consistent label placement.
  • Complete setup of M-Series carton labeler.
  • Complete setup of weight scales.
  • Understand the ERP system.
  • Adhere to 5S program for the site.
  • Adhere to Quality and EHS requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as required by your supervisor.
Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 1-year experience in packaging environment
  • Experience with semi-automated filling equipment.
  • Experience with weight scales (table top and floor models).
  • Experience with manufacturing and ERP systems.
Skills/Pre-requisites:
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in multi-task environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work as required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
Training:
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge on automated packaging equipment (preferred).
