Assistant Manager, Accounting and Finance
EMS-Tech Inc.
Belleville, ON
Are you looking to take over a brand-new role with a successful, growing company? Do you eat, sleep and breathe finance?

If so, we’ve got an opportunity for you.

We’re EMS-Tech: a successful and growing engineer firm that specializes in the designs for bulk material handling. For over 25 years, we’ve been lending our expertise to projects great and small, leaving a trail of very happy clients in our wake.

Now we’re adding a new member to our team: a capable and experienced finance professional who is ready to take ownership of a new and critical role.

That’s where you come in

As our new Assistant Manager, you’ll be an essential part of our daily, monthly, and yearly financial operations. Using a fine attention to detail and an in-depth knowledge of standard financial systems, analyses, and processes, you’ll ensure accurate financial data at all times.

The best in this role will do more than just draft accurate reports and tax statements: they’ll offer key insights into our financial operations, and provide suggestions and strategies for improving the work of our finance department.

Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:
Managing month-end financial statement closing schedule for a group of privately held companies (domestic and foreign)
Preparation/calculation of losses/gains, deferred revenue, tax provision, etc.
Completing supporting schedules for working paper files (fixed asset continuity, corporate income tax continuity, etc.)
Managing ongoing domestic and international corporate compliance requirements such as reporting associated with value added taxes, Statistics Canada, statutory payroll deductions, etc.
Managing applications and ongoing compliance requirements associated with outgoing and incoming Letters of Credit
Detailed financial analysis and reporting, including cash flow, projections, labour efficiencies, etc.

Our manager is currently responsible for this position, and as you take over those responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from someone experienced in the role. We’re looking for someone to start as soon as possible, so if you’re ready for an impact role with a growing company, don’t wait to apply.
