Auto Body Painter – Red Seal CertifiedJob Overview
We are seeking an experienced and Red Seal Certified Auto Body Painter to join our automotive repair team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and refinishing vehicles to a high professional standard, including colour matching, paint application, and final finishing.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has strong attention to detail, and can consistently produce high-quality results in a busy auto body repair environment.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming
- Accurately mix and match automotive paint to manufacturer colour codes
- Apply primer, base coat, clear coat, and other refinishing materials using professional spray equipment
- Blend paint as required to achieve seamless colour matches
- Inspect completed paintwork for colour accuracy, finish quality, and imperfections
- Polish, buff, and correct painted surfaces when necessary
- Maintain spray guns, painting equipment, and work areas in clean working condition
- Follow proper paint booth procedures and workplace safety requirements
- Work efficiently with other technicians to help ensure repairs are completed on schedule
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship
Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal Automotive Refinishing Technician certification is required
- Previous professional experience as an Auto Body Painter / Automotive Refinishing Technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive refinishing, surface preparation, and paint application
- Experience with automotive colour matching and paint mixing systems
- Proficiency with spray guns, sanding equipment, power tools, and other refinishing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced auto body shop environment
- Ability to safely lift and handle vehicle parts and equipment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
