Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Labourer/Finisher to join our construction team. This role involves working on various concrete projects, including pouring, finishing, and restoring concrete surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, including rebar installation, and concrete forming. Experience with heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, attention to detail, and physical endurance.
Duties
- Prepare and set up forms for concrete pouring, ensuring accuracy according to schematics and blueprints
- Pour, spread, and level concrete using hand tools and power tools to achieve smooth finishes
- Install rebar and reinforcement materials as specified in project plans
- Perform concrete finishing tasks including troweling, and sealing surfaces for durability and aesthetic appeal
- Read blueprints and schematics to interpret project requirements accurately
- Conduct restoration work on existing concrete structures to improve safety and appearance
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris according to safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction equipment maintenance and operation
- Proficiency in rebar installation, concrete forming
- Experience with hand tools such as trowels, hammers, bullfloat, saws.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics for precise construction work
