We are seeking a dedicated and fully licensed HVAC Service Technician to handle the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local climate systems. In this role, you will diagnose technical faults, perform proactive system maintenance, and provide exceptional customer service to our clients. The ideal candidate will be registered with the appropriate provincial bodies and thoroughly understand Ontario safety codes. [1]Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose, test, and repair malfunctions in heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- System Inspections: Conduct comprehensive combustion analyses, test safety controls, and check refrigerant levels.
- Preventative Maintenance: Clean coils, clear blockages, replace filters, and complete seasonal system tune-ups.
- Compliance Reporting: Fill out precise digital service orders, equipment logs, and TSSA-required pressure tags or documentation.
- Customer Interaction: Explain equipment issues transparently to property owners and recommend optimal replacement or upgrade options. [1, 2]
Qualifications & Requirements
- Gas Certification: Valid TSSA Gas Technician 2 (G2) licence is required (G1 is highly preferred).
- Refrigeration Licence: Valid 313D (Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic) or 313A (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic) Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario.
- Environmental Credentials: Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HVAC diagnostic and field troubleshooting experience.
- Driving Licence: Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, safely climb ladders, and work comfortably in tight areas like attics or crawlspaces. [1, 2]
