Seven Numbers has been serving honest Southern Italian food since 2001. We don't chase trends, we don't cut corners, and we don't have time to teach someone the fundamentals of Italian cooking from scratch.
We're looking for a part-time experienced line cook to join our team.
This role is four days per week, split between our Danforth and Eglinton locations (typically two shifts at each), with additional opportunities to cover vacations and help during busy periods.
This is NOT an entry-level position.
You should already understand the foundations of Italian cooking and be comfortable walking into a professional kitchen and contributing immediately.
What you'll be cooking
traditional Southern Italian dishes
- Long-simmered sugos and ragùs
- Seafood, meats, vegetables and seasonal specials
- Food prepared from scratch using quality ingredients
- Recipes that respect tradition and consistency
You should have:
- Minimum 3 years of professional line cooking experience
- Strong experience in Italian cuisine (Southern Italian experience is a major asset)
- The ability to work cleanly, quickly, and independently
- Excellent knife skills and organization
- Experience with proper station setup and service execution
- Pride in consistency and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and reliability
This position is probably not for you if:
- You're looking for someone to train you from the ground up.
- Your experience is mostly chain restaurants or reheating/prepared foods.
- You need constant supervision or recipe-by-recipe instruction.
- You struggle with pace during service.
