Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Lead RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) to oversee and support early childhood education programs. The Team Lead is a positive role model, mentor, and leader within Willowbrae Academy. This position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Academy by deminstrating strong leadership skills; showing excellent verbal and written communication skills, and decision-making and problem solving skills.
The Team Lead serves as the designate in charge in the absence of the management team. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong leadership, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), decision-making and problem solving skills, a passion for early childhood education and inclusive practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education.
- Current provincial licensing requirements, including:
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Up-to-date immunizations and all other provincial requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inclusive practices and experience supporting children with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and documentation software.
- At least 3 years of experience in the ECE field, with some Supervisory capacity.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development

- Mentor, coach, and support educators, particularly new employees through the New Employee Orientation Program.
- Provide ongoing guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to team members.
- Listen to staff concerns and feedback, resolving issues when appropriate or escalating them to management.
- Encourage teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
- Assist with organizing staff recognition initiatives and team-building activities.
Operations & Administration
- Act as the designate in charge during the absence of the management team.
- Ensuring all Ministry and Academy requirements are being met on a daily basis.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Academy while ensuring policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, staff, and Academy operations.
- Assist management with implementing company initiatives and operational improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.

The Team Lead plays a vital role in creating a positive workplace culture while ensuring Willowbrae Academy continues to provide exceptional care and education for children and families.
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
