We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced optometry practice. As an Optometric Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks that enhance the patient experience and ensure the smooth operation of the office.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records using electronic medical records systems
- Conduct preliminary tests for patients, including autorefraction and imaging
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and optical products available for purchase.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office space to ensure a welcoming environment for patients.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding services, insurance coverage, and billing information effectively.
Skills
- Experience in a front desk or medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with retail sales practices, particularly in an optical or healthcare environment, is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients and their families.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
