Reporting directly to the Shaft General Foreman.
What you will do:
Ensure a safe work environment for all employees by maintaining compliance with all applicable safety requirements, leading by example and promoting a proper safety attitude to all employees
Responsible for supervision of the hoist and shaft crews in the field to ensure maximum utilization and safety
Collaborate with the shaft planning group and contribute to safe and efficient execution of shaft and hoisting operations and maintenance
Ensure compliance with Mine Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety, and Loss Control
Establish an atmosphere for good human relations through support of new and on-going initiatives, excellent communication, and consistent and fair decisions on grievances and disciplinary actions
What you will bring:
Grade 12 education or equivalent, a technical certificate or diploma would be considered an asset
Knowledge and experience in mine shafts, hoists, and maintenance
Strong commitment towards safety
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage conflict
Strong leadership skills to help bring accountability to your team by creating a supportive and motivating work environment
Ability to multitask and proactively manage tasks and commitments
