Shipper/Receiver
Location: Leslie & Hwy 7
Pay Rate: $22-26hour
Hours: 2:30pm – 10:40pm ( must be flexible to work days when needed)
MUST HAVES:
Recent experience in automotive manufacturing mandatory (tier 1 or 2)
Certified on the counter balance and reach
Prior shipping and receiving experience in automotive environment
Knowledge of RF scanner
Notes: THIS IS NOT A MATERIAL HANDLING ROLE !! Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of forklift experience in automotive industry - Teir 1 or Tier 2 • Experience and certified in counterbalance and propane exchange (Yale) • 3+ years performing picking, staging, labelling of parts, Unloading and loading automotive related shipments. • Communicating with customers, vendors, suppliers • Strong problem-solving techniques • Experience with EDI / sending ASN. • Completion of minimum 12 high school diploma • Strong computer in MS office (outlook, excel, word, etc.) Duties: • Safety load/unload trucks & receive incoming purchase orders from suppliers and customers, materials/parts from any plant and returns from customers • Visually check and ensure quantities and weights of all received materials are correct • Enter receiving/shipping data using barcode scanners in the SAP system and ensure that all bills of lading and paperwork are correct and complete-reporting damages • Print pick lists, label parts, pack and stage shipments as per the shipping schedule required for the next truck or next day’s deliveries • Ensure all material gets package, tagged & labelled as per AIAG/customer standards, create and print labels using bar coding and SAP system • Shipping Supervisor: Shippers will provide the Shipping Supervisor with full details on all functions as they are completed. Document and report all safety, quality of work issues (potential and actual). • AQP Department: Shippers will maintain constant contact with the Materials Manager and all other personnel in the MRP Department to solve problems and perform tasks • Production departments: (PRESS SHOP, WELDED AND NON-WELDED ASSEMBLY). Shippers will be in constant contact with all necessary production Personnel. This will establish smooth material flow in and out of shipping. Other related matters must also be communicated • Carriers and transportation company: Shippers will maintain constant contact with dispatch and drivers to ensure all pickups, drop trailers and scheduled pickups are done on time. Shippers will problem solve with drivers and dispatch as necessary • Quality control dept: Shippers will work with QC. To ensure all finish goods are inspected before loading and provide material handling as necessary
