Position Title: Production Assistant
Location: Fort Erie, Ontario
Duration: Full-time

Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Production and Quality Assurance teams, the Production Assistant supports the entire production process including harvesting, trimming, packaging, and shipment of cannabis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and renew mother plants
  • Assist in cloning and germination of new plants
  • Transplant the plants into desired pots
  • Scout for insects and diseases and assist in necessary treatments (application of predators, sprays)
  • Help with harvesting activities when needed (trimming, drying, etc.)
  • Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment, as well as, packaging and vault areas
  • Perform safe and effective trimming, drying, weighing, and packaging of product
  • Coordinate and communicate with employees managing the electronic inventory software
  • Follow checks and balances for quality, efficiency and safety, thus minimizing contamination and waste of products
  • Maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere across all departments
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure
  • Follow work orders provided by the Master Grower
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulations
  • Assist in any task the Head of Facilities designates as an immediate priority to preserve the physical or environmental security of the building, contents, or staff
  • Attend any training session designated by the Company
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time


  • CTLS Security Clearance is preferred
  • Clean criminal record is mandatory
  • College diploma in horticulture or related field is required
  • 2-3 years of work experience in the greenhouse industry or equivalent
  • Pesticide certification is an asset
  • Experience in and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset
  • Must demonstrate necessary comprehension of mathematics and English language
  • G driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as designated by the company
  • Excellent workmanship skills and pride in not cutting corners is mandatory
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude able to work cohesively in a group or independently as required

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work may be required of you, which could include evenings, weekends and holidays, and you may be asked to participate in an averaging agreement (reliable attendance is mandatory)
  • PPE Required: Scrubs, gloves, hairnets, and safety shoes

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with cannabis, alcohols (organic solvents), and fine dust
  • The ability to lift 20-40 pounds regularly
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • The ability to safely climb stairs while carrying 20-40 pounds
