SMS Equipment is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Labourer to support service operations within our Fort McMurray, AB branch. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, this role is responsible for assisting skilled tradespeople with a variety of general duties, including moving materials, cleaning equipment and work areas, vehicle detailing, and supporting repair activities. The Labourer plays an important role in maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient shop environment.
Working closely with technicians, supervisors, and branch personnel, you will help support daily service operations while demonstrating a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Base Wage: $37.56 per hour, plus applicable premiums.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Schedule: 7x7
What You'll Do
- Move tools, equipment, and other materials to and from work areas.
- Deliver vehicles and pick up vehicles from customer sites.
- Wash and detail company vehicles to quality standards.
- Assist with mechanical, electrical, and body repairs on heavy equipment.
- Perform general shop cleanup and equipment and parts cleaning.
- Steam clean, prepare, and paint components.
What You Bring
You are a dependable team player who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining safe and organized work environments. You possess a High School Diploma with a 1+ years of experience in an industrial environment.
Additional requirements include:
- Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong focus on providing valuable customer service
- Valid Class 5/G Driver’s License
Nice to Have:
- Forklift training
- WHMIS certification
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification
- Experience supporting maintenance or repair activities on heavy equipment.
