POSITION SUMMARY:
The Daycare Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Tsuut’ina Daycare and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality childcare services. This includes assisting with administration, program planning, staff scheduling, facility operations, payroll, budgeting, and compliance with applicable government regulations, provincial daycare standards, and Tsuut’ina Nation policies. The Supervisor will promote a positive and well-organized daycare environment by supporting staff, maintaining strong relationships with families, coordinating program activities, and assuming Director or classroom duties when required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Administration: Assist in the successful operation of the Daycare, and serve as Acting Director as required. Work in accordance with Government Regulations and Tsuut’ina Nation policies. Support annual budget preparations to ensure program expenditures remain within approved budgets. Provide support during the annual evaluation of the Daycare Program and services. Process payroll in a consistent and accurate manner. Monitor transactions of program fees to ensure accurate record keeping.
· Facility Operation: Conduct scheduled inspections to ensure that the daycare remains in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations. Develop and implement proactive maintenance procedures to ensure all mechanical systems remain in top working condition.
· Program Management: Develop and implement operating schedules and procedures, ensuring visibility and public awareness. Optimize the efficiency of program delivery by monitoring and aligning staff based on program objectives. Complete daily evaluations of program elements, and contribute feedback on recommendations. Develop and Coordinate special events for children themed around different seasons and holidays. Arrange medical attention for injured or ill children in accordance with provincial regulations. Assume classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher.
· Personnel Management: Coordinate staff schedules, and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files. Uphold confidentiality standards across all operations. Ensure the supervision of children meets policy based on provincial standards and guidelines. Work in the playroom with playroom with children when necessary.
· Public Relations: Serve as a positive role model within the community. Uphold and promote the philosophy, mandate, goals and objectives of daycare. Foster and maintain effective relationships with parents and guardians. Alway demonstrate a courteous and positive manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Desired Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
o Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE Level 3) or related field with two (2) years of direct experience working in Early Childhood Development is a requirement.
o Valid Infant and Child CPR.
o Two (2) years of experience in Program Administration.
o Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and policy standards related to the operation of a Daycare Centre.
o Knowledge of the Tsuut’ina Nation culture, government, languages and community services will be considered an asset.
o Knowledge or Certificate in Conflict Resolution.
o Knowledge or Certificate in Xyntax.
· Personal Attributes:

o Ability to foster meaningful relationships with students, Parents or Guardians and Daycare personnel.
o Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate within a team environment.
o Ability to work under stressful conditions.
o Commitment to ongoing professional development, and willingness to obtain further training and education.
· General Employment Requirements:
o Valid Driver’s License, and reliable transportation.
o Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
o Oath of Confidentiality.
