Under the direct report of the director of public affairs, act as principal project manager for a wide range of communications and French Language Services projects, including internal communications, social media, and UOHI corporate events.
Communications and Project Management:
Coordinate communications portfolios, including internal communications, social media, and UOHI corporate events;
Write, edit and curate the lineup of the weekly newsletter, which goes out to employees and is published to the internal website;
Plan, write and translate content for all social media platforms;
Organize UOHI events;
Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project;
Delegate project tasks based on staff members’ individual portfolios, and track project performance.
Management of French Language Services Office and Translation Services:
Oversees the daily operations of French Language Services to support the delivery of effective communications and quality translations in French;
Acts as the main point of contact for French Language Services clients;
Occasionally take care of the translation request management system (receipt of requests and allocation to freelancers, quality controls, delivery of translations, etc.);
Ensure proper follow-up for unpaid translation invoices;
Support the development of all documents and tools to facilitate the provision of services in French;
Ensure the efficient implementation of current policies as they pertain to the provision of services in French;
Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive range of French Language training programs for health-care professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
Three to five years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in project management.
Experience with and a proven understanding of internal/organizational communications.
Strong writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills in French and English.
Demonstrated capacity to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience and ability to work in high pressure, fast-paced situations.
Experience in event management.
Experience in developing and implementing communication plans.
Fluency in both official languages.
Knowledge of communications in a healthcare setting is an asset.
Experience with social media, digital content-management tools and content-curating tools is an asset.
