Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work with schematics and technical manuals. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support our operations across multiple industries including construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for repairs or modifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery
- Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper functionality
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment and perform upgrades or modifications as required
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance activities
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy industrial equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, concrete trucks, or similar machinery
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting complex systems
- Experience with welding, fabrication, electrical systems, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment operation when necessary
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for construction equipment
This position requires a combination of technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, physical stamina for heavy lifting and operation of large machinery, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
