Administrative Support - Finance

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position's primary responsibility is in supporting the finance team in completing their tasks in a timely and efficient manner. This position performs many financial support functions that enable the financial team the ability to perform proficiently for both the Children's Services Ministry and the Community & Social Services Ministry. These functions include Accounts Payables and Receivables, support HR requests, Client reporting, reviewing expense claims and other duties including unit and general support as required.
This position operates with minimal supervision and is often required to independently determine courses of action and resolve problems and work within established financial policies and procedures while maintaining and managing various financial documents for the team.

The successful candidate will possess:
Highschool and three years of related experience. Equivalencies are considered as following: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of related experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of related experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and Outlook is required
  • Basic accounting knowledge is preferred
  • Experience in a fast paced environment with the ability to meet strict deadlines is required
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills are required
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and multitasking skills are required
  • In-depth knowledge of government and department policies is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with IMAGIS, CMAS, My AGENT, EPS, P-Card and EXCLAIM is an asset
  • A Business Certificate is preferred
$1,843.28 - $2,256.80 Bi-weekly
