Casual ( On Call) Stores Attendant
In this role you will be responsible for:
Performing a variety of stores duties in designated areas of the warehouse and logistics operations of Interior Health such as shipping and receiving, filling requisitions/orders, unpacking, checking, storing and distributing supplies/goods.
What you'll do
Maintain computerized and manual user inventory and other Stores records.
Receive, sign for, unpack and check goods shipped to the Hospital; identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers and complete necessary documentation.
Place incoming Stores inventory items in the appropriate storage location; rotate stock.
Handle hazardous goods in accordance with W.H.M.I.S. guidelines.
Process user stock requirements into the automated Material Management system.
Assemble and distribute supplies to storage areas of applicable departments. Monitor supplies in user areas and maintain required quotas.
Operate the pallet-lift, forklift and other material handling equipment.
Carry out accurate counts of stock items during physical counts to meet audit or inventory control requirements.
Maintain security measures for the Department as per policy and procedures.
Keep work and storage areas in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Grade 12 plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Ability to organize work.

Status:Casual (Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours. Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).
Department: In Hospital Replenishment
Hours: On Call Monday to Friday 0800-1600, 0900-1600, 0930-1530
Location: Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver
Wage: $21.35/ per hour +12.6% straight time pay in lieu
