The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing team. We are hiring operators for:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Rock Trucks
- Compactors (Packers)
These are field-based positions on road building, earthworks, and infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia and Western Canada. Operators should be comfortable working in remote locations, on large production crews, and in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Safely and efficiently operate assigned heavy equipment.
- Perform production work while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
- Operate equipment in accordance with project specifications and site plans.
- Work safely around ground personnel, utilities, structures, and other equipment.
Daily Inspections
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
- Monitor machine performance and identify maintenance concerns early.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform minor servicing as required.
Production
- Work closely with supervisors, grade personnel, and other operators.
- Maintain consistent production while minimizing rework.
- Follow grade stakes, GPS guidance, and site instructions where applicable.
Safety
- Follow all company safety policies and site-specific procedures.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and hazard assessments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Experience operating one or more of the following:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Rock Trucks
- Compactors (Packers)
- Experience in road building, earthworks, and civil construction preferred.
- GPS machine control experience is considered an asset.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset).
- Ability to work in remote locations and varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing where required.
