About Plexus Development Group
Plexus Development Group Ltd. is a Nova Scotia-based real estate development and investment company focused on identifying, structuring and executing high-potential real estate opportunities.
Our growing pipeline includes opportunities across multi-residential, mixed-use, commercial, industrial, land development, self-storage and strategic real estate acquisitions.
We work closely with investors, financial institutions, municipalities, government agencies, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants and strategic partners to move projects from acquisition and feasibility through approvals, financing, construction and stabilization.
As Plexus enters its next stage of growth, we are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly capable Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to help lead, scale and execute the company's long-term vision.
For the right individual, this opportunity may extend beyond traditional executive compensation. There may be opportunities to participate as an equity partner in select new development projects, subject to the structure, requirements and economics of each project.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced real estate executive to take a significant leadership role in building and scaling an entrepreneurial development and investment platform.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic, financial and operational leadership across the organization.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate comfortably at both the strategic and execution levels — from evaluating acquisitions and negotiating financing to reviewing development approvals, managing senior consultants, building investor relationships and ensuring projects remain on schedule and financially disciplined.
We are particularly interested in an executive who thinks like an owner, investor and developer, not simply an administrator.

- Navigate complex planning and regulatory environments.
Knowledge of HRM and Nova Scotia planning and development processes would be a significant advantage.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary organization.
- Recruit and develop senior professionals as the company expands.
- Establish clear accountability throughout the organization.
- Create a culture of entrepreneurship, integrity, collaboration, financial discipline and execution.
Equity Partnership Opportunity
Plexus is looking for more than someone to simply occupy an executive position.
For an exceptional candidate who demonstrates the ability to source opportunities, raise or structure capital, execute developments and create significant long-term value, Plexus is open to discussing participation as an equity partner in select new development projects.
Equity participation would be evaluated on a project-by-project basis and may depend upon the candidate's role, contribution, investment, performance and the applicable project structure.
This creates the potential for the successful executive to participate directly in the value they help create.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial executive with significant experience in real estate development, investment, construction, finance, asset management or a closely related industry.
You should understand how a real estate opportunity progresses from an initial idea or acquisition through:
Feasibility → Acquisition → Approvals → Capital → Construction → Leasing/Sales → Stabilization → Value Creation
You should also be comfortable evaluating opportunities from an investor's perspective and determining whether the potential return appropriately compensates for the capital, time and risk involved.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant senior leadership experience in real estate development, investment, construction, finance or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of real estate development economics.
- Experience evaluating acquisitions and development opportunities.
- Understanding of debt, equity, joint ventures and development financing.
- Experience working with investors, lenders and financial institutions.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate significant commercial transactions.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong financial and commercial judgment.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication capabilities.
- Experience working with Boards, shareholders or investors.
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia and HRM real estate markets is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with municipal planning, zoning and development approvals is considered a significant asset.
A university degree in business, finance, real estate, engineering, construction management, planning or a related discipline is preferred. An MBA, professional designation or equivalent executive experience would be considered an asset.
