Ceridian Talent team is looking for a Development Manager, to lead the development of next generation of industry leading HCM products.
As a Development Manager, you will be responsible for the success of your team's work, including delivery of high-quality innovative products, as well as the performance and growth of individuals on your team.
To thrive in this role, you are someone who have a proven technical background, works well in teams and enjoys collaborating. You enjoy working with product management to find the best solution to the problem at hand, and can coach developers to balance technical trade-offs with delivering customer value quickly and iteratively.
Job Description:
Help and guide our team to achieve sprint/release goals and deliver innovative product
Manage the day-to-day development rigor of multiple projects by documenting requirements, analyzing, scoping, planning, engineering, implementing, testing, and communicating
Collaborate with product and UX leads to plan projects, clarify requirements, and influence our product roadmap
Drive productive technical design sessions and discussions, ensuring the right people are involved, and that decisions are well documented
Manage the growth and development of your team, e.g. regular 1:1s with team members, setting objectives, tracking career growth
Champion engineering best practices across the entire engineering organization
Coordinate deliverables with other development teams to assure consistency and manage dependencies
Take a leadership role in our recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes
Understanding of technical architectures, capacity plans, tool requirements, automation plans, product launch plans, and other deliverables
Job Requirements:
5+ years of experience, with at least 2 years managing development teams
Technical fluency; comfort discussing or diving deep on technology concepts, schedule trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members
Driven by delivering customer value and impact
Experience in organizing projects and delivering high quality releases on schedule
Experience in building and leading development of complex SaaS and/or cloud-based applications
Good judge of top software engineering talent, and ability to grow their careers
Ability to work well with stakeholders and juggle competing demands
History of teamwork and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
Demonstrated track record of hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional talent
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering
Desired Skills:
Solid object-oriented programming using C#, Java, JavaScript
Understanding of Event driven architecture, RESTful web service, and API design principles
Experience with Data Integration Platforms, CRM a plus
Domain experience in HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance is a significant plus
