Concorde Airport Services – Journeyman Electrician
Purpose and Objective:
To bring your professional skills and abilities to our team allowing us to provide exceptional maintenance services to a world class facility, the Calgary International Airport, while fostering a great team environment and work/life balance.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
· To maintain, repair, install and modify electrical equipment on passenger loading bridges, facility electrical systems, in accordance with Concorde and Calgary Airport Authority prescribed standards, and the Canadian Electrical Code Regulations.
· Perform scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on passenger loading bridges, facility lighting and power, Motors, UPS, back- up generators, SCBO, sump pumps, or any other electrical equipment as required.
· Familiar with Fire Alarm system operations.
· Repair defective or damaged electrical equipment as required.
· Install and modify new equipment.
· Align photo eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches, and potentiometers.
· Change out, disconnect/re-connect electric motors.
· Replace defective light bulbs, ballasts.
· Repair or replace damaged wiring and connectors.
· Modify and re-program VFD’s.
· Calibrate loading bridge limits.
· Replace defective fuses, relays, contactors, disconnects, warning devices, power supplies, photo eyes, limit switches, I/O modules, shaft encoders, circuit breakers, heaters and elements, proximity sensors, lamps, switches, or any other electrical/mechanical equipment as required.
· Assist millwrights in installing or repairs of defective mechanical equipment.
· Ensure daily time and work orders are completed at the end of shift.
· Recommend corrective action in resolving software/hardware problems in existing and new systems.
· Participate in the commissioning and testing of new systems.
· Perform any other duties as may be required.
Minimum Requirements to Maintain Position
· Must be in possession of a valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate as an Electrician or Red Seal Certification.
· Valid Alberta Class 5 Driving License.
· Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance (RAIC-Restricted Area Identity Card) and AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit).
· Must be able to pass all job required training.

· Must be physically fit, able to handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs., a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.
· Experience working as an Electrician in a large commercial / industrial facility is considered an asset.
