About Andorix
Andorix designs, builds, and operates Neutral Host Network infrastructure, shared in-building wireless and fibre backbone systems that allow multiple carriers and service providers to deliver connectivity within a single building or venue. Our technicians are the hands on backbone of every deployment, ensuring property owners, carriers, and end users get reliable, high-performance connectivity from day one.
Job Summary
Andorix is seeking a skilled and motivated Fibre Technician/Installer to join our Neutral Host Network deployment team. In this role, you will install, splice, test, troubleshoot, and maintain the fibre optic infrastructure that powers our multi-carrier, in-building network solutions. You'll work across commercial properties, multi-dwelling units, and venue sites, ensuring every connection meets the performance and reliability standards our carrier partners and property clients expect.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently in the field, and passionate about delivering clean, well documented installations that support critical shared infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fibre optic cable splicing, termination, and testing for indoor and in-building Neutral Host Network installations.
- Read and interpret network diagrams, splice schematics, riser drawings, and construction plans specific to each site/building.
- Install, maintain, and repair fibre and telecommunications equipment supporting multi-carrier neutral host systems.
- Conduct OTDR, power meter, and continuity testing to verify network integrity and confirm performance meets carrier and Andorix standards.
- Troubleshoot fibre optic and network connectivity issues across the shared infrastructure and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Install and configure fibre distribution hardware, including FDPs (fibre distribution panels), enclosures, splitters, and head-end equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with Andorix standards, building/property requirements, carrier specifications, and applicable industry and safety regulations.
- Complete accurate documentation, including test reports, as-built drawings, and daily work logs for each site.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures while working in buildings, rooftops, risers, and other field/customer locations.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, RF/network engineers, property management, and carrier representatives to ensure on-time, on-spec project delivery.
- Support multiple concurrent site deployments and respond to maintenance/service calls on existing Neutral Host Network installations as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in fibre optic splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting using fusion splicers and OTDR equipment.
- Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing fibre optic and telecommunications networks (in-building experience strongly preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, riser/construction drawings, and technical schematics.
- Familiarity with FTTH/FTTX and structured cabling practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for fibre and connectivity issues in shared/multi-tenant environments.
- Working knowledge of fibre distribution systems, head-end equipment, and industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, or equivalent).
- Comfortable working in varied building environments — risers, rooftops, mechanical rooms, basements, and tenant spaces.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to represent Andorix professionally on-site with property staff and carrier partners.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work independently or as part of a small field crew.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Valid Full Ontario Driver's License (Class G) with a clean driving abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as BICSI Installer, FOA (Fiber Optic Association), or equivalent fibre/telecom certifications.
- Experience working with neutral host or carrier-grade in-building wireless deployments.
