Maple Leaf Self Storage is a leading national self-storage developer, owner and real estate manager with over 16,000 tenants in our fourteen stores in Western Canada. Ten of our stores are located in Metro Vancouver and four are located in Calgary. Two of the Calgary stores opened in 2017 and we are currently constructing another state-of-the-art store in Metro Vancouver which will open in the Fall of 2019. Our sixteenth store will open in Metro Vancouver in 2020. We are currently seeking a strong, experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager for our North/West Vancouver store.

The Assistant Store Manager must have excellent leadership and team-building skills and the ability to inspire, coach and support his/her team. You will work closely with the Store Manager and together will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day business operation, including maximizing locker revenues and retail sales, minimizing delinquencies, ensuring exceptional customer service, growing referral business and maintaining a clean, well-maintained and professional-looking storage facility. Much of the focus will be on growing the building’s revenues and occupancy. This will require you to implement strong sales processes and to keep abreast of the competitive marketplace so that we can pro-actively manage standard rates and revenues. The Assistant Store Manager will also be expected to collaborate with the head office sales and marketing team and other Maple Leaf store teams in areas such as marketing, leasing and business development.

Our ideal candidate is very sales-focused, possesses excellent customer service and organizational skills and has a solid background in hospitality, sales and/or property management. A background in self-storage is not required. The ideal candidate has held leadership/supervisory positions in the past. The candidate must have strong management and communication skills and the passion to grow and develop the self-storage business. The candidate must be very comfortable working with computers and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarization with accounts receivable collections and strong people skills is important. Knowledge and experience with basic building maintenance and operations is very desirable.

This is a full time, five day a week position. You must be able to work some weekends. There is some scheduling flexibility. Our offices are typically open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays. Our offices are closed on statutory holidays.
