Wage: $25.09 per hour
Status: Part-Time (18 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday & Friday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and Saturday (11:00 AM – 5:00 PM). (Some flexibility available to coordinate with existing team.)
Job Summary
This role blends compassionate personal care with low-key daily support for an extremely fragile individual living in the community. Due to complex physical health needs, support focuses heavily on slow-paced personal care, routine medical tasks, and household assistance. The ideal candidate excels at reading non-verbal communication, working closely with families, and maintaining a calm, empathetic environment.
Key Client Care Duties
- Slow-Paced Personal Care: Assist with sensitive personal care routines, prioritizing comfort, pain management, and physical safety.
- G-Tube Feeding: Safely administer nutrition via a gastrostomy tube (G-tube).
- Non-Verbal Communication: Read and respond attentively to subtle body language and facial expressions to anticipate needs.
- Household Management: Perform daily household duties the individual cannot do themselves, including laundry, dishes, and meal preparation.
- Collaborative Care: Partner closely with the family and healthcare professionals to navigate unexpected changes in health status.

Requirements
- Age: Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Driver's License: Valid Class 5 BC driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
- First Aid: Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (Kardel can provide this training).
- Health & Safety: Negative TB test result.
- Background Check: Clear Criminal Record Check (Kardel will submit this on your behalf).
Assets (Preferred Assets)
- Experience with G-tube feeding and complex physical care.
- Experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum or managing mental health challenges.
