Are you a hardworking, self-motivated and reliable individual? Steel River Energy Services has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Labourer to join our team in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
Key Job Duties:
Operate equipment and machinery such as small hand tools and trucks in a safe manner.
Assist operators and perform a wide range of tasks at construction sites.
Act as a spotter for trucks and other heavy equipment.
Load, unload, identify and distribute materials and equipment.
Clean construction work areas where needed.
Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks.
Identifying safety risks and hazards, and complying with relevant safety procedures and regulations.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Various safety tickets and certificates as required including but not limited to:
Alberta Standard First Aid, an asset
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-09)
Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST)
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), an asset
Ground Disturbance Level II, an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clean Driver’s Abstract
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
3-5 years experience as a labourer.
Previous experience in the pipeline construction industry an asset.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods.
Physically able to handle and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Physically able to perform manual labour during a 12-hour shift.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
Reliable and strong work ethic.
Proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Proficient communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail.
Flexibility to meet constantly changing demands of the workplace.
Organization, time-management, and multi-tasking skills are required.
Optimistic/collaborative approach and attitude towards work.
High degree of initiative and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
Positions are field-based and work in remote locations.
Travel may be required.
