The Department of Infrastructure and Sustainable Design is currently looking for an energetic and detail orientated person to fill the position of Program Assistant. This position will be supporting two programs within the department; BTECH in Construction Management and Construction Engineering Technology. Reporting to the Department Head, the position is responsible for providing coordination and administrative support for the Chair and Program Staff. As well, this position will cover off the reception desk for the School of Applied Sciences and Technology as required.

Manage student data in PeopleSoft Student Administration System
Provide program information and assistance to students and prospective students

Prepare office correspondence and data reports using Microsoft Office, electronic mail system, as well as use additional equipment such as scanners, photocopiers, laser printers, etc.

Perform reception duties such as telephone, e-mail and in-person inquiries, booking appointments, arranging meetings and dealing appropriately with students and/or staff.

Manage and maintain records management system (electronic and paper copies).

Assist the program staff with administrative clerical tasks and computer troubleshooting

Maintain printers & photocopier

Assist in reviewing applications for the BTECH Construction Management program

Cover SAST reception desk (CAT 5th floor) as required

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills

Knowledge of NAIT programs, policies and procedures would be a definite asset

Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration would be an asset
Post-secondary education in office administration or equivalent would be preferred

Remuneration: $1,639.93 to $2,117.34 bi-weekly

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
