Job Summary
MLC College is seeking a Admissions Assistant to support daily administrative and front-line activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills, fast and accurate typing ability, excellent administrative skills and prior experience working in a private career college environment in Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist students, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer phone calls, emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department
- Assist with student admissions, registration, and enrollment processes
- Maintain and update student records in the college’s database and coordinate with placement agencies.
- Prepare and organize student files, letters, and reports
- Provide support for class scheduling and room bookings
- Coordinate with faculty and staff to support student needs
- Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information in accordance with privacy laws
Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Computer Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Typing Skills - Fast and accurate typing (ideally 50+ words per minute)
- Organizational Skills - Ability to manage student files and records efficiently
- Teamwork - Willingness to collaborate with faculty and other administrative staff
- Experience in Private Career Colleges (Ontario) - Familiarity with Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) expectations and administrative processes is a strong asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
