Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning after school drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imaginations while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.
Young Rembrandts is seeking energetic and enthusiastic candidates who have had the responsibility for motivating groups of children and guiding their behaviour. Young Rembrandts will train qualified Instructors in the Young Rembrandts methodology and teaching technique.
Young Rembrandts offers classes in elementary schools at the end of regular school day, as well as in community centres and preschools. Young Rembrandts Instructors should be available to teach 2 to 3 lessons in the afternoon each week for the duration of the term (12 weeks). Instructors are assigned to specific schools and stay with the same schools and days of the week for the whole term, and preferably throughout the school year.
Job Requirements:
- Good drawing skills
- Experience leading groups of children
- On time, mature and dependable
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to setup/take down chairs and tables when required
- Must be able to stand for 1-2 hours
Notes:
- This is a very light part-time position, teach 2-3 lessons per week.
- Compensation: $57 per lesson.
- Each lesson lasts about 1h, but setup and cleanup are also included in the lesson pay.
- Paid training ($20/hour)
- Lesson plans and supplies are provided.
