Cannabis Counsellor

CannaWay Clinic was founded in 2017 by a group of physicians, counsellors and experts in medicinal cannabis who are leaders in their respective fields. Together, we formed the mandate that patient care would go beyond giving sound medical advice, and focus on creating a holistic patient experience at our clinics. We are looking for counsellors to join our team of compassionate providers.

Join us in creating thoughtfully prescribed treatment plans and teach patients how to confidently incorporate medicinal cannabis into their schedule in a safe, comfortable and effective way. Through every stage of the patient experience we provide support and guidance.

Position : Cannabis Counsellor
T e rm : Part-Time (1-2 Days/week) - possibly transitioning to full-time.
Location : GTA - clinics in Mississauga, Brampton & Etobicoke

To always provide the highest quality of customer care and support

Counsel, both cannabis-naïve and experienced, patients that have been prescribed medical cannabis in selecting a licensed producer and strain/product

Support clinic staff and patients with completing and submitting required documentation

Answer questions that patients may have regarding medical cannabis, THC/CBD ratio, consumption etc. using comprehensible language, within the confines of the law, that will ensure the patient feels confident with their product and how to properly medicate themselves

Conduct follow-up calls to ensure the patient has heard from their chosen licensed producer and to evaluate dosage and strains prescribed

Stay up-to-date with Licensed Producers and the products they offer

Willing to see patients that have been prescribed medical cannabis via Telemedicine provincially; in addition to our physical location


Experience counselling in medical setting and cannabis education an asset

Proficient in English, along with strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to adapt to patient’s experience and needs

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills along with a passion for providing quality patient care

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Operate with the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics and discretion

Proven track record of working in fast paced, high pressure environments with the ability to prioritize

Must be flexible to support business needs and able to travel to different locations
