Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated AZ Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and ensuring timely delivery while providing excellent customer service, the selected candidate will run a linehaul from Mississauga to Ottawa daily. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver items from suppliers and customers in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with set procedure, temperature monitoring policies and protocols.
- Must obey all rules of the road and drive in compliance with the Ministry of Transport and all aspects of the Highway Traffic Act.
- Accurately complete all paperwork (manifests, BOL’s, COS etc.) and return it in accordance to set procedures.
- Document; hours of service in driver log portal (ELD), complete inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route and post trip), incident/accident reports and maintenance reports as necessary and according to legislation and turn in appropriate copies to the safety department as per time schedule.
- Properly perform tasks to assure safety and to prevent damage to freight. Ensure loads are secured to prevent shifting, falling and damage to the freight.
- Count and inspect all shipments and make appropriate notations on manifests and/or bill of lading for any exception (overage, shortage, damage). Promptly report any OS&D problems or improper loading to dispatch.
- Perform all work in a safe, efficient manner and operate all equipment in an appropriate and safe way.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times during work hours, (PPE) as deemed by Rogue’s Safety department.
- Handle all dangerous goods or WHMIS regulated freight in a safe, correct manner in accordance with legislation and provided training.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area including the cab and trailer.
- Follow all required company policies and quality control standard operating procedures.
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns during deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of AZ experience
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving history is essential.
- Familiarity with navigation tools and GPS systems is a plus.
