Position Summary
The GLOW Program Leader is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and daily operation of the GLOW Program. The program serves youth ages 12–14 (with youth ages 15–16 accepted on a case-by-case basis) and focuses on life skills development, wellness, cultural activities, and positive youth engagement.The GLOW Program supports youth in developing the skills, confidence, and independence needed for a successful transition into adulthood through structured programming, mentorship, and community involvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Planning & Implementation
- Plan, develop, and implement engaging weekly and monthly activity schedules for youth ages 12–14.
- Design and deliver programming that aligns with program goals, youth developmental needs, and cultural values.
- Coordinate program logistics, including space, materials, schedules, and transportation when applicable.
- Collaborate with Northern Stars and other community partners to plan and deliver joint activities and events.
Youth Supervision & Engagement
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to program participants.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes positive relationships, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Support youth in building life skills, confidence, leadership skills, and healthy decision-making.
- Address behavioral challenges using positive discipline, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches in accordance with program policies.
- Assess individual youth needs and adapt programming to support diverse abilities and learning styles.
- Provide one-on-one support, coaching, and goal-setting assistance as needed.
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
- Supervise, support, and provide guidance to program staff and volunteers.
- Lead daily check-ins or briefings with staff and volunteers.
- Model professional conduct and best practices in positive youth engagement.
- Assist with staff onboarding, scheduling, training, and ongoing development.
- Support conflict resolution among staff, volunteers, and participants.
Community & Family Engagement
- Maintain open and consistent communication with caregivers regarding program activities, events, and youth progress.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools, and community organizations.
- Support referrals to community resources when additional services are required.
- Represent the GLOW Program at community meetings, events, and outreach activities.
Safety, Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure the program meets all safety standards.
- Identify, document, and report safety hazards, incidents, or concerns in a timely manner.
- Support emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality, ethical standards, and child protection policies are upheld at all times.
Documentation, Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate program documentation, including attendance records, incident reports, and activity logs.Assist with program reporting, evaluations, and funding or grant-related requirements.
- Track program supplies, equipment, and budget needs, reporting shortages or concerns as needed.
- Support data collection, outcome measurement, and continuous program improvement efforts.
- Assist with program intake, registration, and orientation processes.
Additional Duties
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Support special events, community outreach, and program-wide initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the success of the GLOW Program.
Pay: $30.30 per hour
Work Location: In person
