The City of Port Coquitlam is currently accepting applications from enthusiastic, energetic, experienced, qualified and insured BCRPA fitness instructors who are interested in teaching Group Fitness High Intensity styles, Spin, Older Adult and Aquafit Fitness classes at the new Port Coquitlam Community Centre and at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre.

Join our dynamic team as a Group Fitness Instructor / Aquafit Instructor and inspire patrons to achieve their health and wellness goals through energetic, engaging, and expertly led fitness classes. In this contract role, you will deliver motivation that cater to diverse fitness levels, foster a positive community atmosphere, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Your passion for fitness and teaching will help create an inclusive environment where participants feel empowered and energized to push their limits. Duties
- Lead group fitness classes with enthusiasm, ensuring proper technique and safety for all participants
- Design and adapt class programs to accommodate various skill levels and fitness goals
- Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and modifications to ensure inclusivity and engagement
- Foster a motivating environment that encourages participation
- Monitor class dynamics, offering individual encouragement and feedback as needed
Qualifications
- Certification and registration in Group Fitness and / or Older Adult Module and / or Aquafit Module is required
- First Aid / CPR C certifications required
- Proven experience in teaching Group Fitness classes / Aquafit classes
- Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, safety protocols, and fitness principles
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of participants
- Passionate about health, wellness, and helping others achieve their personal best
- Ability to demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism in all interactions
Hourly Rate per class : $39-$42
