Day Support Counsellor – Casual Call-In
PROGRAM AREA: Day Support (support individuals within various day support programs and community settings)
This position requires staff with open availability for day and evening shifts, including same-day call-ins to support program needs.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Providing support with activities of daily living, personal care, and personal hygiene as required.
- Supporting individuals with recreational, educational, and community-based activities that promote meaningful and memorable days.
- Assisting with the implementation of Individual Support Plans and AIMS documentation as directed.
- Completing accurate and timely documentation, communication logs, medication records, and data collection.
- Supporting safe medication administration following CLSL policies and procedures.
- Encouraging community involvement, independence, social inclusion, and personal choice.
- Assisting individuals with behavioural, emotional, medical, or sensory support needs.
- Ensuring a healthy, clean, respectful, and safe environment for individuals, staff, and visitors.
- Responding appropriately in emergency, illness, injury, or crisis situations.
- Working collaboratively with team members, families, volunteers, and community partners.
- Being flexible and reliable to support changing program and individual needs.
- Transporting individuals to activities and appointments as required.

- Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated understanding of adherence to and valuing of CLSL policies, procedures, performance standards and confidentiality requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in Developmental Services, Human Services, PSW, Social Services, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioural needs, personal care, or community programming is considered an asset.
- Experience in day support, recreational, community, or group support settings is an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certifications required.
- A current Safe Management certification is required.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
