We are currently seeking a Senior Manager for our growing team. Isaman Chopek LLP is a fast-growing accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Edmonton serving clients across Alberta. Our team of professionals use cutting-edge technology to drive growth while providing our clients with expert advice across diverse industries. Our innovative, cloud-based accounting software allows us to deliver a full suite of outsourced services to our clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Manager to join Isaman Chopek LLP, with the opportunity to grow into a partner within our audit division. You will become a leader and mentor to a dynamic team, influencing and empowering others to achieve their professional goals and contribute to a motivating team environment. You will work with a diverse group of privately held dynamic and not-for-profit organizations acting as a Business Advisor to clients. This will give you the opportunity to make a difference by helping clients solve business problems and achieve their business goals. You will be a part of the decision making process, and participate in the development of business strategies. You will become a valued subject matter expert for your clients and be supported by senior practitioners to help achieve your professional development goals. Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading, executing and reviewing work for client engagements
- Taking responsibility for and managing engagements, including managing the client relationships
- Planning and leading teams ensuring that client expectations are clearly communicated
- Proactive in problem solving with the team or clients
- Reporting to Partners with overall management of engagement pricing and budgeting
- Being a leader in the firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan
- Participating in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team members
Skills & Knowledge:
Completed a CPA designation, with a minimum of five years post-designation experience
- Strong background with reviewing audit engagements and working with owner managed clients and non-profits within a public practice scope
- Desire to manage teams within audit and the small business group
- Being an articulate, inspiring, and versatile communicator
- Build and deepen meaningful business relationships with colleagues, clients and in the marketplace, based on strong rapport, trust and respect
· Strong people management focus, and coaching orientation
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices
· Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
· Knowledge of Canadian Audit Standards (CAS)
· Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO)
· Proficient in Caseware and Profile
· Strong business acumen
· Strong computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office)
