Loaves and Fishes is responsible for getting food to those who need it in Nanaimo and beyond. Our administrative team supports the daily operations that make this work possible, and we are looking for a Summer Student to join our team.
This is a full-time, 8-week temporary position. The successful candidate will primarily provide administrative support and help maintain an organized and efficient office environment. This summer, we are also relocating to a new building, and the student will play a key role in helping set up our new office space.
This position also includes occasional work in our warehouse or at our Free Food Markets to support operations as needed.
Duties include:
- Filing and organizing documents
- Copying, scanning, and general administrative support
- Assisting office staff with a variety of tasks as needed
- Greeting and assisting donors and clients in a professional and friendly manner
- Helping set up and organize office spaces during our move to a new building
- Supporting general office operations and maintaining a clean workspace
- Assisting in the warehouse as required, including sorting food and supporting other warehouse tasks

- Must be between the ages of 15 and 30
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- A valid driver’s license is considered an asset
