Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Breaks: Two 10-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Mississauga. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and producing quality parts on a variety of brake press machines while maintaining close tolerances and meeting production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate brake press machines, including Amada, Accurpress, and Alsteel.
- Change, install, and adjust tooling and dies as required for production runs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Form and bend metal components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure product quality.
- Use standard measuring instruments, including callipers, micrometres, tape measures, angle gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Maintain close tolerances and ensure all work meets company and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot setup and production issues and make machine adjustments as required.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating brake press equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Amada, Accurpress, and/or Alsteel brake presses preferred.
- Ability to change and set up dies independently.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of standard measuring gauges and inspection equipment.
- Ability to work accurately within close tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
