Nile Academy is seeking an Elementary Home Room Teacher starting in September 2026 . The candidate for this full-time position will join an exceptional and talented faculty and will work with students who are bright, motivated, and engaging.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (advanced study and/or Master’s degree is preferred) and at least two years of upper elementary classroom teaching experience. Creativity, passion for learning, and a positive attitude are desired as well as the ability to maintain a structured learning environment within a student-centered classroom. Because the opening will be for a primary level teaching position, the ideal candidate will have experience at this grade level or those immediately adjacent. Familiarity with the Reading and Writing Workshop models of instruction is also desired.
Additionally, the candidate must have strong collaborative skills and be able to work closely with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional planning. The candidate will be expected to regularly participate in professional development and program improvement, be available to support students and parents before and after school, and may be assigned other duties by the Head of School.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share best practices in teaching.
- Utilize technology and educational resources to support instruction and student learning.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
