Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Vice President Talent, the Director of Talent Management will be responsible for the holistic Talent Ecosystem Strategy that encompasses the responsibilities for the performance management, talent development, succession programs & assessment strategy. This role will support the enterprise Skills Cloud, Talent Marketplace and Career Hub implementation strategy that will enable a machine learning driven solution that provides a personalized talent experience. Along with overseeing and administrating the Company’s development and delivery of talent management programs and processes that enable the business to achieve their goals. The Director of Talent Management will support overall business alignment of strategic initiatives with a clear targeted, well developed strategy aligned to desired strategic outcomes (outcomes include – delivering a more personalized talent experience surrounding targeted learning assignments and development).
Key Responsibilities:
Enable Centre of Excellence expertise through responsibility for insights and anticipation of trends in process, policies, metrics, technology and structure
Create and leverage innovative networks and outreach initiatives to identify future system enhancements and training requirement to achieve goals to increase performance
Set and lead the 3 year strategy for Talent Management. They will support overall business alignment of strategic initiatives with a clear targeted, well developed communicated strategy aligned to desired strategic outcomes.
Partner with internal HR COES and key functional leaders to define business needs, current and future scope of client groups, target employee profiles, skill-sets and experience levels
Guide, motivate, and coach their team to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and standards as well as best working practices.
Assume ownership of company-wide talent management programs and processes.
Build, develop, implement and maintain performance development, succession planning, mentoring, assessments, cross functional movement of top talent into transformational roles and outplacement services functions to evolve the talent development programs.
Lead the annual performance development communication and marketing campaigns in partnership with HR Business Partners and compensation ensuring a strong alignment with business priorities, compensation, development and career planning activities.
Lead the execution of Executive Succession Planning including the management and analysis of data, reporting, material preparation for calibration sessions, and training delivery as required.
Oversee Succession data collection, schedule communications and processes. Identify improvement and automation opportunities and implements agreed upon solutions.
Lead the enterprise mentorship communication and marketing campaigns in partnership with HR Business Partners and executive sponsor ensuring an easy and colleague friendly experience. Facilitate training delivery as required.
Manage, administer, track and report on key talent metrics including succession data, top talent, transformational roles and talent development programs.
Oversee the identification, selection and ongoing management of external consultants and vendors where required and maintains a network of leading professionals in the field
Identify future system enhancements and training requirements to achieve goals to increase talent effectiveness
Ensure our culture, values, diversity, equity and inclusion are incorporated into the talent management ecosystem
Guide, motivate and coach team to ensure that work is performed accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and standards as well as best working practices
Develop, coach and foster continuous engagement and development with direct reports
Job Qualifications:
University education in business, HR or related discipline.
7 - 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources with a focus on delivery strategic talent initiatives.
5 – 7 years of experience at a supervisory/management capacity.
Strong executive presentation skills.
Workday knowledge and processes are an asset Demonstrated competence to deliver in fast paced, complex and multi industry organizations
Retail or equivalent industry experience is an asset

Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making and may involve confidential or sensitive matters

Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally or through written documents.
Requires an ability to apply concepts and theories to improve functions or units.
Computer skills to produce and interpret reports, documents and presentations.
Capable of carrying out defined standard procedures. Basic numeracy, literacy and routines generally acquired through a short explanation.
Ability to apply methods or procedures which are generally well-defined and straightforward, but able to adapt to meet occasional, unusual circumstances.
Knowledge of a professional discipline, technical specialties, related processes and/or people issues requirements; capable of implementing practical procedures of systems which are moderately complex.
Able to identify, lead and implement practical procedures of systems which are complex. Leadership skills may be required, organizing skills are needed.
Extensive experience and capability gained through in-depth involvement in a field, or broad experience in several fields. Leadership and managerial skills are needed.
