POSITION OVERVIEW
The Registration Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling and registration of all patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System.
EDUCATION
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, required.
- Administrative or Secretarial diploma preferred
- Medical/Psychiatry terminology an asset
- Courses in Mental Health an asset
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years recent relevant registration, admitting and appointment scheduling experience required.
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge base of medical and psychiatric terminology.
- Knowledge of patient scheduling systems preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 35-45 wpm.
- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook email. Microsoft Word, Excel, PM Launch, PowerPoint.
- Call-Centre or similar telephone customer service experience preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing education such as post-secondary courses, seminars, workshops, etc.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability for attention to detail while providing high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Demonstratedability to manage stressful situations with empathy.
- Must be prepared to work in all areas of Mental Health Services as needed.
- Good work and attendance record required.
