TWD is currently seeking a Distribution Engineer to join our team in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta you will be working at site and remote for this opportunity!
Working collaboratively as part of the design team, the Distribution Engineer will assist with the development and implementation of client-driven design approaches and solutions. This individual will use knowledge of specialized design concepts and software tools to produce designs and drawings as per industry standard, client requirements and applicable codes and regulations. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and upward reporting to are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project's lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities

Designing electrical distribution systems, applying analytical skills, managing power distribution projects, and working with electric power utilities.

The role involves executing projects related to electric utilities and ensuring project excellence.

Assist other designers and drafters in carrying out technical tasks.

Prepare, review and mark for changes, detailed site layout, structural or electrical drawings such as: schematics, profiles, single line diagrams, circuit plans.

Authenticating engineering designs, standards and specifications prepared by the individual or under the direct supervision of that individual.

Completing distribution designs, ordering material, issuing work orders and approvals, as well as conducting field inspections and overseeing contractor management during construction and maintenance activities

Performing and reviewing electrical and civil calculations including pulling calculations, clearances due to sag and tension of aerial wires, pole strength calculations and transformer sizing
Qualifications & Technical Software Skills

Electrical Distribution Design and Power Distribution skills
-
Analytical Skills in the field of electric power.

Experience in Electric Utility projects

Strong understanding of electric power systems.

Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities

Excellent communication skills both written and oral

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is an asset

Knowledgeable in Infrastructure industry
